First Day School

Rockland Friends Meeting has a vibrant and active First Day School. The kids and young people of the First Day School vary in ages. They meet on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. while adults are meeting for worship. To experience meeting, the First Day Schoolers join the adults towards the end of service.

Religious education leaders are Sylke Jackson. Some of the topics covered during First Day School:

  • Quaker Values

  • Quaker History

  • Social Justice Issues 

  • Heifer Fund

The First Day Schoolers are very active outside of RFM. They go on youth retreats to Powell House, attend Fall, Spring and Summer sessions, march for environmental justice and hang out together for movie nights and other outings. They love it when new young friends join them at First Day School and other activities.
